CLINICAL SKILLS BUS 2005-2010

clinical skills bus

The clinical skills bus takes the skills centre to the students while on placement, and comes equipped with its own driver-facilitator to support learning in a range of core skills such as:

  • Temperature, pulse and blood pressure recording
  • Taking blood samples and inserting drips
  • Cardiac Resuscitation skills
  • Physical examination skills (listening to chests, examining ears & eyes etc)
  • ECG
  • Ear and eye examination
  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Interpreting X-Rays
  • Swallowing assessment
  • Respiratory assessment
  • Catheterisation
  • Practicing with the pregnant abdomen
  • Performing gynaecological examination
  • Practicing with paediatric and adult resus models 
  • Laptop and data projector
